JBM Ballistics Announces Handheld Ballistics Computer

Exciting news in the world of long range shooting today. JBM Ballistics, who have been offering excellent ballistics software free of charge on their website for many years, just announced that they will be producing a handheld version of their software.

Now you might ask, why is this going to be any better than my Knight's Armament App on my Ipod Touch? Because, your Ipod has a battery life of around 1-2hrs vs the new JBM ballistic computer that runs on a 9v battery and has a smaller screen. Now we are talking months of battery life with no worries.

So far we know that the unit will be called BallistiComp and it's features include measuring atmospheric temp and pressure. After you input your load information, they handheld computer will tell you windage and drop, flight time, terminal ballistics, velocity, and energy. The computer is big enough to easily read, yet small enough to fit in your pocket.
Two things remain unknown - when we will be able to purchase it, and how much it will cost. If it costs anywhere close to the other competitors, it might not do so well. But if JBM keeps the cost down, this new handheld computer is gunna be a huge hit.
